LAUIL501 - Study Task 2 - Reading and understanding texts

Science Illustration: Picture Perfect
Jyoti Madhusoodanan, June, 2016

Scientific illustration can be essential when explaining complex subject matter to non-scientific minded audiences.
Illustrations can even change the way a scientist looks at a problem and lead to further research based on issues they wouldn't have considered if they hadn't discussed it with an illustrator.
The general consensus is that using an illustration can only enhance and add to the outreach of a scientific paper.
Illustrating scientific data/research is sometimes the only way someone may be able to interpret it.

LAUIL501 - Study Task 1 - Establishing A Research Question

COP 2 Research Question

Exploring core interests and subjects that fascinate me is important in order to think about what specifically I want to explore with this module.
Science and nature and how art can interpret them is the area I want to look at.
Combining my interest with science's philosophical, conceptual and sometimes peculiar aspects with the problem solving involved in illustrating these will be the question's theme.

Research into scientific contemporary illustrators and how they approach their work will be important in understanding how best to start creating my own work in an individual way.
