Visual journal - alternate reality

No Logic

I thought working with the populist movement in my journal would be fun but the nonsensical way they view facts and events has been tough. Reading up on their view towards things like climate change and their loose relationship with reality in general has made them slippery and infuriating subjects.

I tried to use their statements about climate change for example and expose the denial of facts as self destructive and dangerous. I know we're probably meant to try be impartial but being stupid is being stupid in my humble opinion. Denying climate change is like denying gravity. Satire is my quote's original subject but ever since I decided to explore the Trump administration's alternate reality it's become quite depressing, like spending 30 years working in an asylum, listening to people with no grasp of reality rant about conspiracies.

Dark times

I've decided to focus on the sinister implications of their 'alternative' viewpoint and try channel distain and confusion I imagine most people feel when they read their news feed.
It's been helpful to use the terms such as 'alternative' as an action within the images. The alternative central face in the middle is the unnerving alternative version that blurs the real faces either side.

Next step is to use some of the relevant words to dictate other media.
Drawing in a nonsensical way?
Painting in an alternative way?
Something twisted and illogical?
